Lubbock Avalanche-Journal Article on CoNetrix Tandem Software

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal published an article about the CoNetrix Tandem software in the business section of the March 23rd edition of the newspaper. While describing the new Tandem software, the article states “The base module offers financial institutions an ongoing information security risk assessment that also tests compliance with federal laws that protect consumers’ nonpublic personal information. A second set of three modules addresses vendor management issues, information security policies and development, and maintaining a business continuity plan which enables a bank, savings association or credit union to continue operating seamlessly in the event of problems ranging from terrorist attacks to natural disasters that may knock out the institution’s main computing system.”

CoNetrix Launches Tandem, New Security and Compliance Software for Financial Institutions

CoNetrix, a national security and technology company, has announced the release of Tandem, the first comprehensive online Information Security Program software solution for financial institutions (banks, credit unions, savings associations, trust companies, etc.).

The software known as Tandem was developed to help financial institutions complete and maintain an Information Security Program which complies with GLBA and the Interagency Guidelines Establishing Information Security Standards. While Tandem was designed as a complete solution from the ground up, it was fashioned into modules which allow for versatility. The modules include risk assessment, policies, vendor management, and business continuity planning.

"In 2007 we began a journey to transition expensive security consulting into affordable online software, and today we are proud to introduce Tandem," says Russ Horn, COO of CoNetrix. The company began releasing the various modules as they were completed. The first release was the Information Security Risk Assessment, followed by an Identity Theft Prevention (Red Flag) program, Business Continuity Planning, Vendor Management, and most recently the Information Security Policies. While the software solution is still new, Horn stated, "Today we have more than 400 satisfied customers using some form of the online software [Tandem]."

When asked about the CoNetrix Tandem software, Carolyn, a SVP and cashier for a commercial bank stated, "I am a big CoNetrix fan as they brought us forward in getting our BCP and policies up to speed... we have the staff to run the bank, but not the staff that can dedicate the time it takes to [manage the BCP, information security program, vendor management, and risk assessment... I have really liked being able to see something that needed changing in our program and have the tools right on the desktop to make the change." She went on to comment about their staff by saying, "I have found everyone at CoNetrix to be great to work with... they get an A from me for all their expertise and support."

Other financial institutions had similar comments to Carolyn. Gary, a VP and Network Administrator for a regional state bank remarked, "I would highly recommend CoNetrix to anyone looking for assistance with their Information Security Program, BCP, Policies or any external IT audit work that needed to be conducted. During my due diligence process, I looked at several companies performing these types of services and have no doubt that I made the right choice for both value and performance." Carol, with another bank stated, "As a community bank Compliance Officer, I felt requesting the purchase of the CoNetrix program [Tandem to be the best investment I have made for my bank this year. It truly streamlined an otherwise very time consuming project."

When asked why they created the software, Horn said, "The financial sector is under much stress right now with increased regulatory burden, financial strain, and security concerns. We created Tandem to help strengthen their security, accomplish their compliance needs, save them money, and free up their time. Hopefully this will allow them to do what they do best, focus on and serve their customers." The software is created specifically for financial institutions (banks, savings associations, credit unions, trust companies, etc.) and is mapped to regulations and industry standards including COBIT and PCI DSS.
