CoNetrix Commences 6th Annual K.E.Y.S. Conference

KEYS ConferenceMore than 150 auditors, bankers, examiners, and credit union professionals gathered in Allen, Texas for the 6th annual CoNetrix K.E.Y.S. Conference, formerly known as the Tandem User Group and Information Security Conference. Designed to provide Knowledge Essential to Your Security, the April 2016 event attracted attendees from financial institutions across the United States.

The annual CoNetrix K.E.Y.S. Conference provides a gathering place for users of CoNetrix Tandem Information Security Software, and offers an educational forum on information security and technology. Attendees were able to engage in sessions covering a variety of hot topics, including ransomware and cybersecurity. They also had the opportunity to receive direct assistance from CoNetrix Tandem experts and Information Security Consultants.

Featured keynote sessions included: an update on cybercrime by Former Secret Service Agent Steven Bullitt, VP Cyber Forensics and Investigations for Solutionary; an encouraging session about culture from Scott Lee Rose of Alliance Federal Credit Union; and a conversation with examiners, featuring an elite panel of five examiners from the FDIC, OCC, Federal Reserve, NCUA, and Texas Department of Banking.

Workshop time provided a place for Tandem Software users to further develop their information security programs, ask questions about the tools, and give valuable feedback for enhancing the software. For conference entertainment, attendees enjoyed a night at Topgolf Allen on the evening of April 6th. Sponsors included Barracuda, Dell SecureWorks, ZixCorp, DataGravity, Hogan Financial Systems, and Printmail Solutions.

“Our goals for the conference are to provide an interactive environment where customers can learn more about information security and the Tandem software. We want to provide a forum for customers to gather and discuss their needs with their peers as we all look to the future,” said CoNetrix K.E.Y.S. Conference coordinator, Leticia Saiid.

The FFIEC continues to emphasize the importance of financial institution staff training and knowledge, especially regarding IT and cybersecurity. The CoNetrix K.E.Y.S. Conference and others like it are an excellent resource for bank and credit union staff looking to achieve these recommendations and enhance their preparedness for the future of banking.
